How will you measure your life?3

Chapter 2 What makes us tick
精華編撰
I will just make it super short. The definition of motivations or incentives we usually define is actually just external needs, like how well we're paid, the friendly working environment, or the period of time you work. But this is just hygiene factors. There is a distinguish difference between this and motivation factors.
The incentive theory was come up very early and adopted by the society, because it it easy to understand, and it made sense to most people, but it cannot explain some situations: like why some people can work under bad conditions without any rewards(doctors without borders,) or street artists. So there comes another theory:two-factor theory, or motivation theory. True motivation is getting people to do something because they want to do it.
Hygiene factors: status, compensation, job security, work conditions, company policies, and supervisory practices.
Motivation factors: challenging work, recognition, responsibility, and personal growth.
And we are easily be fooled by hygiene factors, thinking they will make us happy. So whenever we start a job or just do something, we really need to think about what really makes us tick, motivate, or be happy.
